OWO Haptics

Integration & Compatibility

Sensation creator

OWO Haptics provides the technology necessary to incorporate tactile stimuli that enhance simulated experiences, known as sensations. Feeling stimuli such as the flow of wind, the impact of a bullet, a gentle touch, or the inertia of a vehicle allows for greater immersion and realism, enabling unique and memorable experiences.

OWO offers the Sensations creator, a powerful and intuitive tool that allows you to create, define, and configure stimuli that best suit the simulated experience. In the creator, users can set up sensation libraries that replicate different stimuli, grouped by categories.

Control Panel

This is the main view of the Sensation Creator. Here, you can connect the OWO device through the My OWO app, connected to the same Wi-Fi network, to test sensations configured in the creator.

In the creator’s control panel, you will see the details of the selected sensation, including detailed information such as the microsensation panel with each of the stages that constitutes a sensation.
Once the sensation is configured it is stored in the library. There are options for export and import sensations to share between user profiles.

In this section the muscle groups that will be stimulated when reproducing a sensation are defined. The intensity of the sensation is indicated for each muscle group, and it is possible to play the sensation in a loop or stop it at any time.

How microsensations are created

A microsensation is defined by each of the stages of a sensation. Each microsensation possess parameters that define it and based on which the user will perceive the haptic stimulus.

Microsensations levels

In the microsensation configuration panel, you can define: vibration frequency, intensity based on the user’s calibration, duration, fade in/out, and exit time.

Microsensation levels

Once the microsensations are configured, the sensation is ready to be tested and perceived by the user.

Software developer kit usage (SDK)

Our public SDK is compatible with the most used game engines in the market Unreal Engine and Unity as well as with .NET languages C++ and C#. We also provide libraries compatible with these languages for specific use cases.

Our SDK is easy to use, with only a couple lines of code, developers will be able to connect their system to My OWO app. Our documentation clearly provides a step-by-step guide to make this possible in the mentioned engines and programming languages.

Once the connection is ready, sending a sensation is as easy as calling a function with the sensation as a parameter. When sending a sensation, it can be done in two ways:

  • Dynamic. Sensation created in real time (useful when a sensation has different levels of each parameter: intensity, duration, …).
  • Baked. Those predefined sensations created in the Sensations creator, are ready to use when calling the function. The parameters for baked sensations are static and not modifiable.

Communication between the SDK and application is done with User Datagram Protocol (UDP) ensuring a quick, low-latency communication.
